The chaos can begin!!!!
It’s Saturday and I couldn’t sleep very well. Excitement is growing and growing. A last check over my gear and then I met my two friends at the train station in Berlin. Together, we took the bus to the airport. We also met some friends there to say a last time goodbye. Now, we will need about 31 hours to get to New Zealand. First goal was Abu Dhabi, then Sydney and finally Auckland. In Abu Dhabi, we got 22 degrees. It felt much better then the shitty weather in Germany. A short break at the airport and then we flew to Sydney.
Es ist Samstag und ich konnte nicht wirklich schlafen. Die Aufregung wächst stetig. Noch einmal das Gepäck gecheckt und dann traf ich meine beiden Freunde am Bahnhof. Zusammen nahmen wir den Bus zum Flughafen, wo wir uns nochmals von unseren Freunden verabschiedet haben. Wir werden jetzt etwa 31 Stunden unterwegs sein. Das erst Ziel hiess Abu Dhabi, dann Sydney und letztendlich Auckland. In Abu Dhabi hatten wir gemütliche 22 Grad. Es fühlte sich besser an als das scheiss Wetter in Deutschland an.
It was nice to be back in Australia. But then our first surprise. The boarding staff told us, that we weren’t allowed to fly to New Zealand. Apparently, we need a return flight back to Germany from New Zealand. And this 45 minutes before take off. 45 minutes to get flight back home. Free wifi was fucking slow. I was close to a heart attack. Then, we found a free wifi computer. Looking for a flight 5 minutes, comparing 2 minutes and booking 3 minutes. We ran back to the boarding staff. We gave the lady the booking code and she called the airline to get a confirmation for the flight. 10 minutes before take off, we got the ok. High five!!!
Es war schön, wieder zurück in Australien zu sein. Dort kam auch schon die erste Überraschung. Das Boarding Personal meinte, dass wir nicht nach Neuseeland einreisen dürfen. Angeblich brauchen wir einen gültigen Rückflug nach Deutschland. Dies war 45 Minuten vor Abflug. 45 Minuten um einen Flug zu finden. Das freie Internet war von der Katz. Ich war kurz vor einem Herzinfarkt. Fanden dann doch noch einen Computer mit Internetzugang. Wir suchten 5 Minuten nach einem Flug. Dann wurde 2 Minuten verglichen und nach weiteren 3 Minuten wurde dieser auch schon gebucht. Wir rannten zurück zum Personal und gaben ihnen die Buchungsnummer. Die riefen nochmals die Fluggesellschaft an und nachdem alles bestätigt wurde, durften wir an Board. Das war 10 Minuten vor den Abflug. High Five!!!
Another 3 hours we sat on our butt which were already red and hurts. We arrived with a big smile and hoped that we get our luggage. There it is. We were so damn happy. At the airport we met Sanna from Germany. Together we walked about 6 km and for the rest we got a ride from a local. Torte embraced that, because after this long stretch he got a blister. We will see what happen to him after 2400 km. We will stay for 2 day on a campground near Auckland downtown. In this time we will do what we have to do for the trip.
Noch einmal sassen wir 3 Stunden auf unseren Ärschen, welche schon wund waren und weh taten. Wir hatten ein breites Grinsen im Gesicht als wir ankamen. Jetzt muss nur noch unser Gepäck da sein. Und da war es auch. Wir waren echt glücklich. Am Flughafen lernten wir auch Sanna aus Deutschland kennen. Sind dann gemeinsam 6 km gelaufen und für den Rest des Weges wurden wir von einem Aucklander mitgenommen. Torte hatte dies sehr gut empfunden. Denn nach dieser langen Strecke bekam er auch gleich seine erste Blase. Mal gucken, wie viele er nach 2400 km hat. Für die nächsten 2 Tage werden wir hier bleiben. In dieser Zeit wird noch alles erledigt, was noch erledigt werden muss.

Yes. It was strange. The embassy told us that we don't need a return flight. But apparently it wasn't true. But now Im here.
